Residential Services Officer

The Good Shepherd home (TGSH) has an opportunity for someone to undertake the Residential Services Officer role. This would be a full-time position. You will receive ongoing support and assistance.


What do you need?
Practical experience in the following would be viewed favourably:
  • Strong customer service skills, and an ability to respectfully communicate in a Residential Care setting with multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to build relationships with professional interpersonal and communication skills and liaise with a broad range of people from a variety of backgrounds and experiences
  • Ability to represent TGSH at community events and engagements
  • Flair for marketing will be required
  • Demonstrated ability to adhere to compliance, accuracy and attention to detail
  • Well developed IT skills - word processing, spread sheeting and accurate data entry
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills, together with the ability to apply initiative

  • Registered Nurses

    Applicants must be committed to promoting maximum resident independence and leading care staff in providing individualised contemporary practice Gerontological care.

    Current AHPRA registration, exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care and services for aged persons within a residential home-like care environment are essential.

  • Hotel Services Officer

    The Hotel Services Officers play a pivotal role in meeting the support service needs of the Home. Under the supervision of a team leader, the Home’s multi-skilled Environmental Services staff deliver high level catering, cleaning and laundry services to the Home’s residents in accordance with resident needs and related policies and procedures.

    We are currently recruiting for the following positions:

    • Cook - Kitchen Hand
    • Catering, Cleaning and Laundry Officer

    Experience in these service areas, as well as a relevant certificate, would be an advantage.

    You must qualify for work in Australia and undergo a Criminal History Check.

  • Resident Care Assistant (RCA)

    Applicants must be flexible individuals with compassionate qualities and broad availability. Under the supervision of a Registered or Enrolled Nurse, the Home’s multi-skilled RCA delivers direct resident care that supports their dignity and provides for social, physical, spiritual, cultural and emotional needs. Successful applicants will possess the following:
    • Ability to follow written procedures and industry guidelines
    • High level communication skills to interact with Residents, visitors, supervisors and other employees
    • Ability to work well within a team environment
    • Ability to provide individualised care within a homelike environment
    • Certificate III in Individual Support or Aged Care is essential
